Grief & Loss: When Healing Needs Space, Not Force
Grief is a natural response to loss — of a loved one, a relationship, health, identity, or a major life change. It is not a problem to be fixed quickly. According to the World Health Organization and leading mental health bodies, unresolved or complicated grief can deeply affect emotional well-being, physical health, sleep, and daily functioning. Grief does not follow a fixed timeline. People may experience sadness, numbness, anger, guilt, emptiness, or waves of pain that come and go. NIMHANS and other psychological guidelines emphasise that healthy grieving needs acknowledgement, support, and time — not pressure to “move on.” At Carl Rogers Mental Health Counseling & Guidance Centre, we use a person-centred approach. You are not rushed or judged. Through empathy and unconditional positive regard, counselling offers a safe space to: Express your feelings freely Make sense of the loss in your own way Gradually rebuild meaning and connection Move forward at your own pace without forcing recovery You do not have to carry grief alone. Support can make the journey lighter. If loss is weighing heavily on you, reach out. Carl Rogers Mental Health Counseling & Guidance Centre Compassionate, evidence-based, person-centred support.
